Home-School Connection Nights (1/15/15 and 1/20/15)

posted Jan 9, 2015, 3:26 PM by Justin Birckbichler
After reading the results of the Home-School Connection Night Parent Survey, I have decided to host at least one reading night and two math nights every month. The first reading night will be on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 7:00-8:00 pm in my classroom. Topics will include finding main idea, understanding sequence, and making inferences. The first math night will be on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 7:00-8:00 pm in my classroom. Multiplication, long division, elapsed time, and word problems will be discussed. On each night, please use the main doors to the building. They will be unlocked at 6:45. These nights will be a good opportunity to ask questions about concepts we are learning in class. Both nights will be before we take benchmarks, so this will be a good time to help prepare your student.

These nights are for PARENTS ONLY, so please do not bring students. Additionally, bring a pen and paper to take notes. These sessions will be broadcast live on YouTube through my channel for parents who are unable to attend. I highly encourage you to attend both nights. Each student whose parents attend one night will get a Big Hero 6 eraser. Students whose parents attend both nights will receive a Big Hero 6 eraser AND a homework pass. I believe that these nights will help your child to succeed and am looking forward to working with you. Please fill out the RSVP slip below by January 13, 2015.
